Brian J. Kalinec, PG - A proven Oil & Gas Finder. Brian has generated numerous prospects and has caused to be drilled or recommended around 280 wells in the past 30 years in both clastic and carbonate environments. Brian has worked extensively in the Gulf Coast region over the years, exploring primarily in the onshore producing trends of Texas and Louisiana.

  • Starting in 1977, Brian worked as a geophysicist with Amoco Production Company and with major, midsize, and independent companies including Texas Eastern, Columbia Gas, and Williams Exploration

  • Brian formed Kalinec Enterprises in 1987 as an independent prospect generation, geological and geophysical consulting private company and developed a considerable client base. His practice has included generating prospects and reviewing prospect submittals for clients. Brian has been independent for 37 years.

  • Brian has a 72% rate of successful and commercial oil & gas discoveries and 70% of these wells are prospects that he generated. Brian has personally invested as a working interest owner in 170 plus wells on prospects he generated or those he recommended.

  • Among Brian’s significant discoveries are the Dynamic Middle Wilcox field in Wharton Co., Texas, (approx 80 BCF ultimate); Lower Queen City-Jim Hogg Co (10+ BCF to date, 25 BCF ultimate), Live Oak Co. Sligo (1 well—33 BCF to date) as well as numerous Pleistocene, Miocene, Frio, Yegua and Cook Mountain, Wilcox, Austin Chalk, Georgetown, Glen Rose, and Sligo producers across Texas and Louisiana.
