2006 to 2014 - EVOLUTION PETROLEUM CORPORATION; Houston, Texas
Grimes, Burleson, Brazos & Fayette Counties, Texas – General Manager Drilling. Planned and Supervised drilling operations (including engineering design) in Horizontal wells targeting the Austin Chalk, Buda and Georgetown formations, including a 7000’ dual opposing horizontal well in northern Grimes county. These operations required managed pressure drilling with muds weights up to 14 ppg at 10,000’ to 12,000’ TVD.
2000 to 2006– ANADARKO PETROLEUM, Houston, Texas
Alaska – Developed engineering design and operational procedures for 10,000’ exploration well on the North Slope, Alaska.
Tunisia – Drilling Manager -Planned and supervised a drilling program in the Tunisian Sahara Desert, including engineering design, procedures, wellsite construction, operations and logistics. Completed within the AFE estimate.
North Louisiana – Drilling Manager -Vernon Field - Supervised drilling operations on a 12 rig program (picked up from 6 rigs) targeting Bossier sands at 15,000 – 18,000’ with BHT of 350F and 18 ppg mud weight. Optimized engineering design and procedures – casing program, hydraulics, drill string design and mud program. Reduced average drilling time from 55 days to 35 days.
Freestone County, Texas – Drilling Manager -Supervised drilling operations on a drilling campaign (12 - 25 rigs) targeting Bossier sands at 12,000’ – 14,000’with Mud weights up to 14 ppg. Optimized engineering design and procedures - WOB, hydraulics, drill string design, casing program and mud program. Drilled 300 plus wells. Reduced average drilling time from 50 days to 30 days.
Tyler County – Drilling Manager - Planned and Supervised drilling operations on dual opposing Horizontal wells targeting the Austin Chalk at 13,000’ with 14 ppg mud weights requiring managed pressure drilling methods. Each lateral was up to 8000’ in length.
1988 to 1999 – UPRC, Ft Worth, Texas
Crockett County, Texas – Production and Drilling Manager. Managed Production and Drilling Operations in the Ozona Field with 4 rigs program targeting Canyon sands at 6500’ and 1 rig program targeting Strawn carbonates at 8500’ with horizontal wells. Drilled over 300 vertical Canyon sand wells using “air” drilling practices and 40 horizontal wells with laterals up to 4000’ in length. Reduced M&R Operating Expenses by 50% while managing production operations for the Ozona (1700 wells) Field.
1982 to 1987 – CHAMPLIN PETROLEUM, Houston, Texas
Reservoir Engineer - East Texas, (1986 to 1987)
Field engineering in South Texas and offshore GOM. ( 1982 to 1985)
Recommended an infill drilling program targeting numerous tight gas sands in the Stratton Field. Changed completion practices to dual tubingless from a large casing program, cutting well cost in half. Over 200 wells drilled.
